One decided to eat almost a dozen hens last year. It picked on them one at a time and my hens were free ranging. There was a hole in my yard, but last summer my foot was broken and I could not go down and fix it. So hens came and went trough the hole, and some slept outside at night. Then Mr. 'Possum would grab a fat one and feast. He made the mistake of coming in my coop though, and I introduced him to a friend of mine named .22 and have never had a problem with missing hens ever since.They eat chickens too.
