Look what ate 2 of our 3 week old Pheasants

I always try to re-home but this one was the exception. My wife in the picture had already reached in and fed the birds and went back to water them and noticed this guy sitting in the corner unable to get back out of the cage due to the 2 rather large lumps (my 2 poor pheasants). She was not happy to see him in the cage to say the least.

What kind of snake is that? (Besides a well-fed dead one...)

Im assuming a black or king snake. Black snakes are forever getting in and eating quail eggs but never bothered the birds.
