    Two hatched so far. We're wondering if that will be it. We'll give the last three remaining eggs another day before removing them.

    We now have four chicks with one egg left to go. I'm thinking that the staggered hatch was caused when the eggs weren't being warmed evenly. She brooded in an unheated though thoroughly insulated coop. Temps inside stayed above freezing, but just barely. Now her challenge will be to keep her hatchlings warm enough to thrive. This will be the supreme test for the next 8 weeks until they feather out fully.

    Doesn't she know that this is Minnesota?
