    oh, my! They are big & beautiful! So sweet! I was expecting tiny little chicks too. Are they red sex-links? They look beautiful in your yard! You look ready for them.

    Yep, Red Star pullets, bought from Murry McMurry (sp). We are ready for them, will have to do a little work before winter time, but they have a large dry predator proof pen for now.

    My dog and I went out this morning to check on the girls, everyone looked as if they survived their first night just fine. While watching and talking to them I noticed one that was puffed out and looked a tad bit uncomfortable. Then, ploop, she laid an egg, our first egg, I have declared this day a holiday.[​IMG] I told the others to get busy we would not tolerate any slackers.
