Lookin for chicks near swain county, nc

so I really would like chicken for my birthday and i don't want to get them from the mail cause that seems a little cruel and does anyone know where i could get them near western north carolina. more near swain county...any advice or help is appreciated. thanks a bunch!!!

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

Feed stores and livestock supply stores often have chicks in the spring. You could also try posting on your state thread (look in the Forum under Social) for local BYCers that may have chicks lots of us hatching this time of year.
