I am hoping to find this breed locally. I am looking to either hatch or get a couple day-olds (preferably hens, but I will chance it with a straight run). I only have a small backyard coop, enough room for six Bantams. But with the size of this breed, I can probably add four more to my three Banties.

I really love the regular, auburn and black quail color and the blue-silver duel tone Belgians.

I cannot find anyone selling less than 15-25 chicks. I just cannot handle that many! I sent out an inquiry to a breeder in Arkansas. I am waiting to hear back. They sell in smaller quantity. But, I have my worries about shipping eggs so far, as they do not offer day-olds.

If there is anyone who could help me find these Bearded Belgian Quail D'anvers locally, or closer to NH, I would be eternally grateful!

    Thank you.

I heard back from the Arkansas breeder. She says she is able to ship so far with very little casualties. She says that the hatch rate is 45% and it would be in my best interest to order at least a dozen eggs; that should hatch me 4-5 chicks (pretty close to the three I would like). But, her D'anvers will not be ready until April.

I am hoping to find some sooner and closer. If I do not, it looks like I will be ordering from Arkansas in a few months. She seems very nice.

Hope someone can help me sooner.

How did it turn out? I am interested in this breed, too. I am in NC.

I have not ordered any yet. We are having coop problems. It would be unwise of me to hatch chicks until I get a new coop; which will probably be later this summer. I may attempt a hatching for early fall, or adopt some chickens from the local fair. But, this is the lady I was going to order the eggs from.

I believe her name is Julie. Send her an email. I am sure she will be able to assist you better than me.

    Good luck.
