I am looking for books to read relating to homesteading... books similar to the dirty life. So far I have :

Goat Song: A Seasonal Life, A Short History of Herding, and the Art of Making Cheese

At Least in the City Someone Would Hear Me Scream: Misadventures in Search of the Simple Life

The Complete Guide to Self-Sufficiency by John Seymour was good. If I'm not mistaken they've just published an updated version. And for an interesting read and wonderful recipes try Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver. Once you get past her ode to asparagus the book gets quite interesting.

I have the seymour book.Old one.I just got back to basics which is more indepth than the homesteading book.It is pretty good.

I love that book, had to get rid of my copy when we moved, so I'm looking for the new edition now. The guy who took over from John Seymour is based in Ireland if I'm not mistaken. I'd love to go on one of his courses. It sounds amazing.
