Hi, I am interested in raising the Bresse meatbird breed to see how good they really are for the table. Does anyone know of any breeder or person that might have some eggs for sale or chicks or established pairs?

Thanks.

Truthfully, my Breese have about a week or two before they are ready to be butchered. If you want to I will let you know. They are excellent layers and friendly chickens and really do look like the Kellogs rooster lol, but to me they do not grow like the "meat" chickens or broilers I think is what they are called. We are letting ours get about 12-13 weeks old before we butcher them and my guesstamation of size is about 2lbs each maybe a bit more but I don't know at this time. This is with feeding them normally. We have some in the brooder that when they reach 4 weeks old we are going to get some grower feed and see what happens. Here are some pictures of the adults and the chicks If you want I will keep you informed. We do sell chicks and eggs.
Thanks
Rita
