Hi fellow BYCers. I have two lovely ladies wit raised from day old chicks - a Buff Cochin and a Cuckoo Maran. They have been wonderful friends and have been laying well! The Cuckoo seems to be broody and we had hoped to let one or both girls hatch and raise some chicks. I am also looking to expand my tiny flock with some more breeds.

Also, any suggestions would be appreciated. We have a critter- proof coop and yard. The coop is large 4'x8', insulated heated and lighted with tunes (they get classical music mostly except sometimes light jazz). They go out every day when it is not too snowy and they get tons of attention from my family. Their mainstay is a Nutrena laying feed and healthy scratch in small amounts. They were hatched in early April of 2013 and once they started laying they have not stopped except for about 2 weeks right around the winter solstice.
Thanks so much and thank you for having me as a member of the greater BYC world!

Cochins tend to be broody so you may have 2 broody hens

Look in the "Where am I? Where Are You?" in the Social section and post on a Colorado thread asking about the eggs! Good Luck!

I am in deepest darkest Littleton - Roborough Park. There are a number of enthusiasts around here and I will have to turn them on to BYC! where are you!
