Just looking for some good history based books for my nook.
Any time eras are great! I love reading about how people lived in the past and even how they live day to day in other countries.
    Any ideas?? Thanks! [IMG]

What age range? Little kid? For girls, I'd say American Girls.
For the 12-15 range, Fever is a good one.

I am in the middle of a series by Diana Gabaldon. The first one is called Outlander. I think there are 6 or 7 in the series so far and the books are really long. She follows a woman from 1945 that gets pulled back in time to 1745 Scotland and looks at how she survives the culture shock. The series follows that woman and the man she marries from Scotland to the islands and then to colonial America. The next book should take it into the Revolutionary War. I have thoroughly enjoyed them.

Actually, I am finishing up "The Fiery Cross" and I read the "A Breath of Snow and Ashes" out of order. I'll likely go back and reread it in order though. [IMG]

They do indeed rock. I heart Jamie Fraser. [IMG]

If it's just for show and you don't mind, um, adult situations in the books, try Gary Jennings (Aztec, Journeyer, Spangle, Raptor) or James Clavell (Shogun, Gai-Jin & others). My two favorite authors!

Jean Auel is another with Clan of the Cave Bear, Valley of Horses, The Mammoth HUnters, Plains of Passage, Shelters of Stone and Land of Painted Caves
