I know there's a suspect rooster somewhere... This is one of my rescue hens, the free ranging chick whose Ancona-looking mother vanished, and her single chick was taken in by a friend's daughter, from whom I got her. She looks like her vanished mother, like an Ancona. She started laying two weeks ago, and her eggs aren't white, they're cream! These are the most gorgeous eggs I've seen in a long time, almost like porcelain (and such thick shells they're hard to break). She's been putting out an egg a day, with only one day for a pause, since she started. Which would be in with Ancona heritage, since they're good layers, but hmm, cream? They're so pretty I almost don't want to crack them, but I have and shall continue to do so!
my Mom says if she ever gets any more she will have anconas too. Hers is not really flighty either. Jean
