Spring is not a normal molt season ... is it? I have 5 girls in our coop that have lived together in relative harmony since October. I went out to the coop yesterday and one of the girls ( bigger Dominique) had alot of feathers all over the run and in the coop. She does not look to have any bald spots or sores, so i dont know if there was an altercation or if she is molting. They all are a year to 6 months of age right now, and no one molted this fall/winter.

We are just warming up here in WI and I am not sure if I do anything at this point.

thanks for your thoughts

I had a hen molt from the end of December to the beginning of this month. She is now finished and laying eggs again. My Australorp just started molting. From what you described, I think your hen is molting. She may stop laying eggs for a while as well. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
