This isn't a plea for advice; I just need a hug.

We lost one of my DS's does this morning to bloat. She went down so fast. She was dead w/in 20 minutes of my finding her. Now I'm dreading 3:30 when he gets out of school and I have to tell him. This was his favorite doe too.

Thanks for all the hugs. I'm lucky to have a great vet who actually breeds and shows goats (and lives down the street from me). But we weren't able to save her. I feel just horrible.

I'm so sorry! [IMG] You may want to look into what was the cause of the bloat so you can prevent it from happening to any others that you may have.

Oh dear - I'm so sorry. But please do share as to what caused the bloat. I am relatively new to goat raising and have a small herd of Nigerian Dwarfs - one who just gave birth to quads and now I'm worried about something (bloat) that I haven't read up on and never really knew it could strike and kill so quickly.

Thanks, yes I've talked with the vet and gone over their diet with him. We updated the other goats CDT. Of course I'm left second guessing every choice we've made.
