Lost my Buff-Laced Polish Today - RIP Carl :*(

I don't know how it happened.. I've had a special chicken (growth retarded), since August 1st. He/she was around four months old when we got him. Hasn't grown an ounce since that day. We have wormed all of them, as a preventative. They've been treated for parasites (mites, etc) with sevin dust. We have lost one other to this same mysterious cause. Both from the same breeder.

He's had the following issues:
Poor coodination
Can not fly from even a foot in the air to the ground.
Very skinny
Sluggish
Had wry neck (possible, not 100% sure, though poly-vi-sol fixed the circles he walked)

Is there something I'm missing? What could possibly cause such a sudden death?

I'm so heart-broken.

I've had my chickens for only 3 months, and have already had to bury two..

I can't comment on what might have caused his death, but I do want to say I'm sorry. I know how difficult it is to lose a special one. Please don't get discouraged. It sounds like you're doing all the right things taking care of them. Sometimes it's genetic and not due to anything you did wrong. Good luck with the rest of your flock.
