I'm very sad, I've had him for 12 years. It makes me extra sad that he was at my parents place until we got moved into our new house so he's been stuck in his cage for the last two weeks. I have no idea what happened as he wasn't that old as cockateils go and he didn't have any signs of illness. My mom said she woke up and didn't hear his normal chirping so she went to check on him and he was laying in the bottom of the cage. It just kills me that he went thinking he had been left behind or that no one wanted him.
This on top of having our old family cat die last spring and my panda cat disappear in September has made it a tough year. I'm just hoping nothing else happens to the menagerie in the near future. It's tough because we're kind of running a geriatric ward though... Right now we've got another cat who is pushing 20, one that is 15 or 16, a black lab that is 12, and a horse that is 27. Ugh, I don't even want to think about going through this again!
