Lost my first chick today 6 week Barred Rock pullet what did I do?

Checked the chicks this am and one was in the nesting box dead. I had 6 they have all been doing fine everything looked good yesterday. The only thing I noticed today was what looked like prolapsed intestines? I don't even know if that's possible as I'm not real clear on the whole vent anatomy. It looked a bit like pasty butt so I rinsed it off and it was red and about an inch or so long. Haven't had pasty butt problems since the first week. I checked the others and they were all clean. Any ideas or things I need to check? They haven't been out side except for a few hours at a time as my run isn't done yet so I'm pretty sure she didn't get injured.

sometimes chicks just die of whatever reason. Heart failure, etc. One morning, I checked the brooder and theres a dead chick in there. Couldn't tell what he/she died of. Fortunately we didn't loose anymore chicks. Just happens, I guess...
