Our chickens free frange. I noticed one missing on head count in the evening. My trusty lab went to the edge of the woods two days later which is unusual for him. I found just inside the timber, fairly thick with cedar, a pile of feathers spread about 5 feet across. Everything was gone except the gizzard and a small piece of intestine. Have seen hawks in the field as well as fox, possom, yotes, and others while hunting. Just curious as to what you might think it was.

I have had a fox attack like this, but it is not a hawk because they like to take there food else where

Thanks, that's what I thought. I did think the fox would eat the gizzard so I wasn't sure. Thanks.
