lost three chicks last night

I went to let my chickens out and found that there were two bodies in the pen with no heads. Found one head out side the coop and there was one that was all the way pulled through the fence. I will be putting all all my chicks in the coop from now on. One of them was the only rooster that I had from Speckles the first rooster that I had. The good thing is none of the other were ones I had named yet.
None of my 4 week one were touched in there pen.

I am sure that it was a raccoon and I will be getting a trap to get rid of the coon.
NOt a coon it is a lynx or bobcat, I just saw it, tried to shoot but the safty was on. tell you how often I use my gun.

I'm right there with you.....heartbreaking.........never had problems with predators before. Wishing you the best!

yep i hope you get it ive delt with some predetors nabing my chicks before and its heartbreaking
