I've searched around for honking noises and most honking type noises described here were contributed to possible nasal issues. One of my 10wk chicks (1BR and 2BO) is making a loud honking noise that lasts about 3-4 seconds and does it every 20seconds. She (or he??) has been doing it the past couple of mornings. I'm not sure which one is doing it, but as soon as I head out there it stops. This is a very loud honking noise that is loud enough to hear inside my house and the coop/run is about 40ft from the house. Any suggestions? We suspect our BR may be a roo, but again I'm not sure which chicken is making the noise.

I would spend some time observing them, it could be an attempted crow.

I was thinking that too. Its only happened the past couple of mornings. As soon as I touch the back door the noise stops. I then let them out and wait to see who's making the noise, but none of them will do it. I'm still new to all this and these are my first chickens. Here's a picture of our BR, I think its her/him.

I just broke the news to her. She took it well considering that she's notice him getting more aggressive the past couple of weeks. Thanks for the help!
