I'm a 1st time chicken mom also. Just got 8 20 week old hens this past Saturday and got my 1st egg today. I was so excited, like winning the lottery excited. I did months of research before getting chickens and 95% of my plans and decisions were based on information and advice from BYC. This site and the great people on here are invaluable! Thanks so much!
