This is my 2nd time having chicks and I love my chickens!!! Before I moved to Florida from Alsaka I had 4 or 5 chickens in Alaska, all bared rocks, super sweet. A few months ago I got 2 two day old supposed to be black sex links [ turned out one is a Crevecoeur, very different from a black sexlink]. then when my black chicks were almost a week old a got 2 lavender Orpingtons and 2 buff Orpingtons all 4 of the Orpingtons were 2 weeks old when we got them! I soon realised why people like Orpingtons so much one of the lavenders would snuggle with you and be so sweet and calm it was like she was sick but she was really just super calm and sweet [ turns out "she" is actually a he, we found him a good home where he will be given a lot of love, will be the only rooster and will have plenty of hens to mate with!]!!! Also, every time I would put my hand in their brooder one of my buffs would climb on my hand and when she came up would snuggle under my shirt [ she is currently 13 weeks old and she has moved outside but still snuggles on my lap and lets me hug and snuggle her and we still have a special bond]!! My Crevecoeur [stella klaire] is so cute, with her big feather fluff ball on her head!! I think it is so funny that we got stella klaire by acciedent beacause creveceours are a rare breed tht originated in france!
