Love of Mom....

Well my broody hen has finally got her chicks. Of seven eggs, six hatched with one dying shortly after. We have a mixed flock so we have...for now...one 1/2 naked neck, one pure buff orpington, and three 1/2 wyandotte. Here is the naked neck, with "mom".

Wish my hens would go broody. Have had to use incubator all season.

Funny thing is when I first got chickens I was hoping for one or two broody hens then forgot all about it they were laying so well. When this one started I thought she was sick so I posted to the illness forum...they all wrote back, "she's gone broody"....duh.
