So I picked up this little one out of the common black pullet bin at TSC. As you can see she is not black but a nice chocolate brown with caramel coloring. Oh and she has 5 toes. I have looked at all the 5 toed breeds but none of the chicks look like this.

So I am asking your help to figure out what this beautiful baby is.

Don't mind the wet butt. We had a nice little bath. [IMG]

My first impression was hey another slikie. I found a black one in the bin as well but it passed sometime during the night. No feathers on the legs that I can tell and it legs are more of a charcoal in the front with the yellowish back. So I just don't know.

    Thanks for your help

these are the only pure breeds with 5 toes: Dorking, Faverolle, Houden, Sultan, and Silkie, so you have one of these or a cross of one of these

not houden or sultan wrong color, best bet faverolle, second dorking

they generally don't but if a rooster jumps the fence, they don't dump the eggs

They came from Mt. Healthy.... Or so said the TSC lady who was helping me while I was helping her with what breeds were in the CBP bin. Looking at the site now I don't even see silkie listed.... weird actually none of the 5 toed breeds are listed.

skin color wrong, and it doesn't 'look' like a silkie chick
