Well, I had an exciting morning! I got in my car to go to the store today and hit my head on the corner of an open compartment on the ceiling in the car. At first I thought it wasn't anything, just a bad bump, then I saw blood, yuck. So I went in the house and looked in the mirror and found that I had a huge laceration. So my Dh had to come home from work and bring me to the ER, because I wasn't feeling that I should drive. Well, lucky me, my laceration was bad enough to need a staple! Now that sucked! Kerchunk! And I didn't even get any good pain meds. [IMG]

Oh my goodness. Where on your head was it? In the hair? Hope you are feeling better, maybe they gave you some pain pills to help. [IMG]

Wow that sucks! Now to fix up that open compartment in the car so you don't have to get another staple!

Quote:Wow, that's nasty. I might be a bit more proactive and either round off the edge of that compartment, or else put some kind of padding there. That's really unfortunate.

But hey, you have a staple and I don't [IMG]

Actually I feel pretty good. They only gave me a giant Motrin, and it's working, don't know how I'll feel when it wears off. :|

Actually the compartment's not broken, someone (my DH [IMG][IMG]) left it open when he had to grab something out of it. Luckily my DD is at her Grams today so she didn't have to see my bleeding all over the place. It didn't bleed that long, only like 15 minutes.

15 minutes is quite a long time! Did you apply direct pressure?

Haha, someone would be very unfortunate to split their head open around me. I could see me kicking into action mode, wrapping a shirt, a towel, or something around their head and tying it off with my belt or another shirt [IMG]

Awww - naughty husband must do penance by bringing treats and waiting on you hand and foot! [IMG]

You know, surprisingly, large lacerations don't really hurt as much as let's say a paper cut between your fingers. I guess it depends on where it is but your scalp isn't the most sensitive area of your body. I had a 3/4 inch laceration on my collar bone that was all the way though the skin, done at a surgeons, never took any pain meds, and didn't even feel it... even after the local anesthetic wore off. Quote:I did actually. [IMG] Something I learned in Girl Scouts, lol. It wasn't heavy bleeding for the most part, but it still sucked.
