Can anyone tell me if my buff Orpington and Rhode Island Red are hens or Roos yet? I'm new to all this and can't have roosters where we live. Lucy and Ethel are so sweet and I'm kinda attached to the little fuzz heads already! I've been staring at pictures of chickens all day trying to see if I can find some difinitive proof that they are indeed hens. There's so many wives tales and opinions that I just can't be sure!

Lucy is a Pullet but I need a clearer photo of Ethel's comb to sex her.

I think it is safe to say you have Lucy but you may not have an Ethel, I would post again when they are older to confirm. (I LOVE the names, I had an Ethel and Lucy also [IMG])
