Is this a crop? It looks too low but i’m Still fairly new. It’s soft to the touch and doesn’t seem to bother her as you see in the video.

I’m also concerned because she’s missing so many feathers and has flaky skin. Any ideas? Could it have something to do with being broody?

The feather plucking is most likely to do with being broody. You are right it is to low to be the crop. I don’t know what it could be. @Eggcessive will be able to help when she logs on :)

Iit might be part of the crop, but I would feel of it often to see if it fills and empties. A breast blister might also be a possibility. Are you planning to let her hatch eggs? If not, I would break her now. That can be done by placing her in a dog crate with no bedding, and place food and water inside. A roost is also helpful.

Hello!
Did you figure out what was going on with your hen? We have a girl who looks just like yours this evening, same breed and everything. Just wondering if she got better or if you found anything wrong.
