I've been lurking here for awhile and finally decided to join (because, of course, I now need help). :)

I own a 20 acre farm in Nova Scotia, Canada. Currently have 6 hens and one rooster but expanding very soon.

Hoping to meet some awesome new people and learn a whole bunch more :)

Hello and welcome to BYC

Glad you joined us! What do you need help with?

I need help identifying my rooster. I'm almost positive he's a mix, but I'd still like to know.

I rescued him from a place that wasn't treating him well. I don't really care what he is, I'm in love with him no matter what.
BUT
I had someone ask for hatching eggs (just for layers) but I couldn't tell them what my rooster is when they asked because I really have no clue.

I will watch that thread - I'm curious, too!!! His comb is what is confusing to me. I assume the little lady in the pic is a Red Star (red sex-link)?

His comb is actually better than it was (pale and bent)....the other rooster had frostbite so bad they fell off....it was so heartbreaking.

I was told the little ladies are Golden Comets (which I believe is the same)
