I have 10 birds that are producing 8-10 eggs a day and 1 Rooster that crows constantaly Neighbors are tolarating but are slowing Getting P*ssed off. Would it adversely affect my flock? If he took a dirt nap?

Some of the girls may be very bonded with him, don't know. But if it turns out he has to leave, consider trying to find him a good home with folks who don't have neighbors nearby, especially if the only objectionable thing is the crowing.

Having a rooster provides protection for your hens. If he's still pretty young, he may slow down on the crowing eventually. Give the poor guy a break! And if you just can't tolerate him, try to find him a home, please.

I dont want to get rid of him I kinda like it. Its my neigbors that are the unhappy ones. And yes giving him away is not a bad idea. The problem is that not too many folks around here are in want of a rooster. Maybe make a stew?

mmmm stew. We may have a rooster in our bunch if he doesn't work out and we cannot rehome him it's the pot for him.

All kidding aside. Does anyone have a good receipe for rooster? And does anyone what chicken frickasee is ? I chave heard its good for old birds but cant find a way of making it. Craigs list is a scary place to get rid of birds there are some sick people out there.
