Macaroni???

Help please . I hate this metric form of measurement. Could someone please tell me how many cups of uncooked elbow macaroni are in a pound. I am using an American recipe with a box of Canadian macaroni (ie: grams not pounds) sigh Thanks

hi there, should be about 2 cups.

8 oz = 1 cup, 16 oz = 1 lb.

According to my package of macaroni, 1 cup weighs approximately 4 oz. Of course it would depend on the size of the macaroni, but mine are shells. Close enough to the size of elbows, I guess.

So... 16 oz = 1 pound = about 4 cups dry.
