Semi graphic pictures attached. I have a RIR 2 year old hen who has a wound the size of a half dollar coin above her vent. There were about 30 maggots in it. I picked them all out and am unsure of what to do next. As a backstory, this hen was attcked by the nehbors dog a year ago. She was bitten in the vent and had some feathers torn out and half of the the top lip of her vent was torn and hanging off. It ended up falling off so she was left with a deformed vent but it was fully healed. Anyway, I know how to take care of injured chickens from the several that where injured. I was thinking first to do hydrogen peroxide to kill the remaining smaller maggots and eggs and then to put Vaseline or this ointment I used last time, cant remember what it was called. I would like any other recommendations too. There isn't a hole its pretty much even with the other skin but there are little pockets where they have dug in.

Bathe her in warm water with some dish soap in it. Maggots can drown. Try to keep the flie population down...it will take her a while to heal up. Maggots can do a lot of damage...
