My pullet had been laying and egg a day when she stopped laying completely. We searched the yard, thinking she just stopped using the box and found nothing. Our yard is big, but not THAT big, we would have found shells or something. Months went by, and we had given up. My husband told a visitor one day last week what was going on and the visitor picked up the hen and started rubbing her belly. My husband didn't think anything of it and didn't tell me. The next day she laid an egg in the nest box, and again the day after that! We know they are hers because the color does match the other hens eggs.
