Boy, am I frustrated trying to figure out what these ducks are. [IMG]

I thought they were crested Blue Swedish but now that my son bought a trio of actual Swedish from an FFA member, and I can see there the Blue Swedes are bigger and don't have nearly as much white, I can't figure it out.

I was told Swedish can come in black and blue and be bibbed or splashed. But one of the crested ducks is brown/white. Could this be the dun/white coloring that Magpies can come in?

Take a look and let me know your thoughts. I'd really appreciate it since they're actually producing ducklings with pretty big crests. My kids might want to show them at Fair. I'd just have to know WHAT they are first. [IMG]

Oh, and note the leg coloring on these birds. Bright orange on the drake and dark gray on the other. These birds are a few pounds lighter than the Blue Swedes.

    Thanks. [IMG]

MAGPIES!!![IMG] This is exactly what their babies are looking like. Black/white, with the occasional blue/white, with those exact markings. Wow, THANKS! [IMG]

I'm glad I asked. They're coming off Craigslist now. Lol. At least the nicer marked ones are. Gonna suggest my boys show them at the county fair. [IMG]

those part magpie, and part crested, (like you said) ducks are cute. but i think they might have some other breed in them based on the coloring. cause magpies only come in black and white or blue and white. and the crested come in either all white or all black (though occassionally 95% black and 5% white). very pretty looking ducks though. My 3 month old hen looks exactly like your drake(minus the crest) and I always thought she was a silver swedish.. now I'm not 100%? When she was a duckling the feedstore guessed a black or blue swedish but it is now obvious that she isn't one of those.. any suggestions? Is she a mutt too? Sorry to steal your post ChickenPotPie but I hope this can help you out, too! [IMG]

(notice her orange and black feet and speckled green and orange beak)
