Magpies

[Percheron chick]

My greatest pests have returned with a vengeance this year. If I'm lucky I get 2-3 eggs a day before they raid the coop. I could lock my chickens in the coop but I don't want 20 angry hens. How does everyone deal with them?

We have a gang of crows this year eating turkey eggs from outside ground nests. I haven't dealt with magpies. We would be shooting them when possible.

I can't hit the broad side of the barn with a gun. Come ask my prairie dogs.

I had a cheeky Magpie here in the UK hopping in the coop nicking an egg but it got a nasty fright when it hopped up and was met face to face with my angry hen whom went bezerk and set the rest off
It did try to come back but they all went on the offensive Plus I went up there now I think it just nabs the odd duck egg if they do one outside!!
