and I won't hold my breath for it to work but its turning into a project getting it to stand up etc. Can't buy any materials so am using the tons of collected posts etc in the barn. It ended up being appx 8' tall and have dug a hole because trying to pound wooden post in was useless. So I decided to dig a HUGE hole and I thought it was fitting to bury the hawks last victim in the hole for the scarecrow along with the post. I can't post pics but its big. And then theres berry netting to put over pen and that will hopefully happen tomorrow(if it doesn't snow too much).

sorry for your loss and all your hard work. The scarecrow will only work for about a week, until the hawks figure out that the thing never moves. Netting over the run is much better.

Well-the plan was to give it movable arms and head and I will plant another one on the other side of their area so if nothing else it will look entertaining(or tacky).Even when the victim isn't your fave its heartbreaking. Chickens still don't want to come out to eat(in the penned area). Tired from scarecrow construction and will try to get some netting started in a bit.

Tacky, talking point, entertaining, it's all good! But, the chickens will feel safer with something "covering their back" so to speak between them and the sky. [IMG]
