    I am still learning!

I want to make sure I am doing this right!

I have straw & wood chips in the coop (& even in the roosting area)

(I was planning on using sand for roost area but didn't get there in time)[IMG]

I go in and turn it a bit & add wood chips & DE. Is this all I am suppose to do till spring?

    Even under the roost?

Quote:This depends on what kind of method you are using. Some folks clean all bedding out regularly and replace it, some use the "deep litter" method (described on this site).
If you are adding chicks from a brooder, they can't go directly in with adult birds, of course.
Personally I would start with fresh litter and a sanitized coop for any chicks coming out of a brooder.
