Hello all, im new here and have a question. The other day i saw one of my males start getting all puffy and strutty, and was harassing the hell out of one of my females. I know they are in the first time stage of mating, so i ignored it. The next day my wife went out and found the one female inside the indoor section with the skin ripped off the back of her head and neck. I isolated her immediately and sprayed her with game bird wound care 3 times a day. Unfortunately this morning i went to the pen i moved her to by herself and she had passed. Just trying to figure out if this is normal or not. I have about 15 females and 7 males. They are 18 weeks old and we have never had any issue before.

Sorry to hear of your loss. You need to observe them and catch the offender. It may be another female that is the attacker....not a male.

I have had bobs that just cant be in with other birds.Dont matter male or female they are just mean.I have a speckle male right now that kills every bird i put around him.So he lives alone
