My 9 month old Pekin male does that - and has for months.

I figured something must be wrong, so I researched it (Google'd 'duck behavior') and found a source on duck behavior (can't find the site at the moment - but it was a University study on ducks) that described exactly what I was seeing - a sort of standing/body stretching straight up with his head pulled into his neck/chest - accompanied by some very odd squeal/honk/raspy sound.

The site said it was part of a male's mating display. If I can find it again, I'll post it here.

He acts completely normal, aside from these occasional outbursts!

    Hope that helps ;)

    Cheers'

Totally normal. [IMG] Freaked me out when my first male started doing it too, lol.

Yep, totally normal breeding display for a male. No worries! :)

One of my boy pekins started doing it when he was a few months old. The best way I could describe it was a hiccup and his neck would shoot up. Never figured out what it was but he was nice and healthy. Now I know!
