Male or female golden

So I have a rescue golden pheasant. They haven’t seen the light of day until we got them. About a year old, I feel like could be female but has shown male behaviors and has this teardrop under eye. I haven’t seen any females with this, but I’m no expert.

From what I can see it seems that you have a female, but i'm not certain. What is the color of its eye, that way I can know for sure!

The eye started a green/whitish color then turned to dark orangish brown.

That's a male.

If close to a year old it is female.
We have many like that in Golden and Amherst and they are hens
