Rescued these two guys a few weeks ago in the pouring rain. The mother was nowhere to be found. Any idea what sex they are?[IMG]

    They both look like cockerels.

Ah well they'll be treated the same as the others (not killed) loved and cared for. I've rescued these babies and I'm not about to part with them. I've grown attached to them. What I don't get, last year when I bought my barred rock pullets. At precisely around this stage and size they developed bright red combs the same color as these guys and all of them ended up as girls. Hmm maybe all there is to do is wait it out.

Yes, little cockerels. My guess is someone probably dumped them. Hate it but that's how some people do things.

Oh I can't stand that! Why do people get them if they're going to dump them? That really irks me.

My guess is because they wanted hens. I used to find roosters at the trash bins where people would leave them. That's what made me think of it.

I can't say here what I think about them doing it. It's not very nice.

I'd also bet on them being dumped due to being roosters. Even folks on here post about doing that [IMG] Pretty heartless, huh?

Both are cockerels. How great of you to rescue them and give them a home!
