male pekin duck with sitting silkie hen

I've read how make ducks kill babies, step on them eat them, etc.. do u think he would be aggressive to the silkie hen as she's sitting on the eggs? I haven't seen it yet but I don't want these eggs to die. Should I separate him from the chickens? As she's sitting or wait till they hatch?

Why take the chance that he might either intentionally or accidentally hurt the chicks? Separate them before the problem arises.

I lost a lil duckling to his own dad so now I separate all drakes from the broody ducks as soon as they go broody so another lil baby doesn't die b/c of me.
