I have two button quail a male and female pair. They’ve been together since I hatched them over a year ago. But I came out this morning to the female in her launch position and her head looking raggedy. Over night the male plucked a bunch of feathers from her head and she’s traumatized. I’m holding her right now so she can get some rest but the male is just angrily growling and cawing for her. I’m not really sure what to do any suggestions?

I'm not sure about button quail, but for my coturnix quail they are generally fine with a bigger female to male ratio. It is completely normal for the male to peck during mating but sometimes I have to separate if he goes for them too much. In my experience the females always heal very quickly when separated. Also make sure she has space to hide from him.
Good luck!

Any ideas for hides? They have three hamster hides that they could easily enter but they never do. Instead she just sits low to the ground looking worried :(
