male to female ratio in chickens?

what is the male to female ratio in chickens. is 1 rooster to 7 standard hens and 3 bantam hens good?

That's pretty much the standard recommendation

for fertilization. Of course with a gentle, courteous rooster, just a few hens might work with nary a feather out of place. And a rough, rude rooster may wear hens with a flock of 20 birds.

ok well i know this is a stupid question but can a bantam like a tophat have fertile eggs while being in a pen with a standard rooster like a bo or rir

I had a bantam polish in with my big Ameraucana... and she had fertile eggs.

Yes, a standard rooster can fertilize the eggs of a bantam hen, but he can also physically injure her if he is a very large rooster.Imagine a BO trying to breed an OE game bantam hen- not a very good idea.
