Can a mallard drake breed successfully with larger breeds?

I"m trying to figure out how long it takes for mallard ducks to hatch?
How do I test mallard duck eggs to see if there is a duckling inside?

I think it takes 28 days for mallard eggs to hatch (correct me if I am wrong).

So having one mallard drake, one runner drake, and one welsh harlequin drake with 7 hens would be a bad idea?
