The duck is almost out, but there is a reddish ball on his belly. Is this yolk or something else? I will try to get a picture right now to post. What do I do?

As he's not out its not clear what it is yet?! I've never caught site of a duck on his way out... only cracked and out!

He's not out all the way... I wouldn't have noticed, but our incubator has a large viewing window. It just doesn't look normal. My chicks didn't have anything like this. I wonder if the yolk isn't fully absorbed? He struggled to get out & is now sleeping.

Should he be wrapped in something or left alone?

He is still connected to the inside of the shell. He just moved a little & I could tell he is. So maybe it isn't the yolk? [IMG]

Could it be his intestines, I hope not, But I've heard of Chicks hatching with the intestines on the outside.
