To sex a duck you primarily listen for a quack. Pick it up suddenly and, if you hear it quack in alarm, you've got a duck; if it makes a sort of hiss/whisper sound, you've got a drake--though it's hard to tell because, as babies, they all sort of make a whisper peep sound.
The dark bill on your baby makes me think duck right now, but apparently that's not a sure way to tell.
