Hello! My very first ducklings are hatching today, they are from mixed breed eggs I won in a raffle. Three are already out (and adorable), three more are zipping, and then one I thought wasn't doing anything until one of the newly hatched chicks bumped the egg enough for it to roll over and I saw a yellow crusty little hole in the wrong end. I pulled it out thinking it might have drowned but I heard peeping! So I broke the crust off and opened the hole more, but it's very gelatinous and gooey down there since it's where all the yolk and gunk usually is. I put it back in the incubator thinking it can hatch itself, but im not sure if it can? I've made the mistake of helping too many chicks out in the interest of saving everybody and I end up having to cull sick/weak/deformed chicks so I don't want to intervene much but on the other hand if it's healthy and just put its head in the wrong spot I don't want to let it die. Any thoughts or tips?
