Managing adult poopy but

I have two Cochins who struggle with always having a dirty bum. The rest of my 6 girls are fine, but the Cochins sit a bit lower to the ground and are heavier than the rest. I do wash them periodically and trim feathers. However, it is pretty cold in Michigan so I try not to do it too often. I am worried about flies and gleet. Everyone appears healthy and stools look fine, occasionally runny if too many treats. No lice or mites. Everyone is roosting.
Is there anything I can do to be proactive to reduce this? How often is too often to bathe them? What else do I need to watch for?

Maybe just trim the feathers with the poo? My fluffier butted australorps and my bantam cochins tend to to have some poo on their fluff. Unless they are show chickens, trimming the rear feathers won't harm them.

I'd just keep the feathers trimmed as needed. As Crazy Maizie said, unless these are show birds, there's no real detriment to trimming and it's much faster and longer lasting than bathing.
