I was wondering where everyone keeps their piles of chicken compost?
I use shavings inside my coop, and the ducks use straw in the winter..and the rabbits as well.
So I just pile my heap in a corner of the run,,eventually it will break down right? what does everyone else do???

I have a compost heap but I must say this stuff decomposes very slowly. So now I have switched to Sweet PDZ on a poopshelf and I just scoop the poop every couple of days and deposit that on the compost heap. Much easier, much less volume and money as I don't have to replace the shavings everytime. They spend much of their time outside this time of year so the floor of the coop that still has shavings doesn't get that much poop at the moment and I just sprinkle some DE on it and perhaps a thin layer of new shavings if I need to freshen things up.

I ended up getting a great offer from my neighbor's with acres and acres ,,they told me I can add all my "waste" to their pile in the field! Problem solved!!
