Maple Leaves??

Hi looking to start my coop and waning to go the deep litter way. Wondering if dried shredded maple leaves could serve as bedding. Thanks for looking.

People do use leaves and stuff but they get wet and the kind of mold. I used leaves for my run and a bit in my coop i didn't like it at all. I now use Pine shavings, they work very well for the coop, and my run. which is covered i used horse bedding, the big flaked pine bedding, works very well.
