Maple seeds as chicken treats

In a few weeks the maple trees will be dropping their seeds in abundance. I sweep up buckets of these from my driveway. I didn't have my chickens in the spring , so I was wondering if they eat these. Is it safe for them?
If it is, I could save them in buckets for a free winter time treat to supplement their feed.

Mine eat them all the time. They just love them. I have not seen any ill side effects from them at all.

Sounds like a great idea. Our patio is absolutely lousy with maple seeds in the spring and it would be wonderful to put them to good use.

This is great. My neighbors will be thrilled! Way way too many prolific and invasive Norway maples in our neighborhood.
